Jon Horne I don't know how much Réamann wants to have his past dragged into this, but there y'go. Of all the 80s/90s "dance element" bands, That Petrol Emotion were one of the best. Tune-wise these tracks are closely related to TPE's flights of melody - but instead of flying out of pummelling bass and Banshees chording, the tunes emerge slowly from 808 State-style bubbling arpeggios. Nothing happens quickly here; this doesn't pretend to be youthful, but is very much dance music.
